Ropetex and Powertex offer more sustainable lifting products
By choosing Ropetex or Powertex, you show that your sustainability and CSR policies make sense. We want to lead the transformation and set the standard for a more sustainable future in our industry. We have high standards and work based on facts. This is how we contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
➕ Product sustainability
We also regularly develop innovative, sustainable products. Three examples:
- r-PET belt slings, round slings and belt lashings
In 2023, we launched our innovative range of belt slings, round slings and belt lashings made entirely from recycled polyester (r-PET). These products all have a reduced CO2e footprint of up to 75%. (See our paper for more details). - Fall Protection Harnesses Our Powertex HW Eco safety harnesses are made from OEKO-TEX® approved r-PET fibers. This means that the material is free of hazardous chemicals and made from recycled PET bottles.
Wire rope lubricant - Our Ropetex Ultra Lube 2 wire rope lubricant is an "Environmentally Acceptable Lubricant." This lubricant is specially formulated to reduce environmental impact in environments where wire rope comes into contact with water.
➕ Information based on facts
We believe it is crucial to communicate based on sustainability facts. We don't like "greenwashing."
All of the products in our lineup that are more sustainable choices come with sustainability fact sheets, in which we clearly identify sustainability improvements and enhancements.
➕ Sustainability audits
We believe that having our shoes in the field and working with our Dedicated Sustainability Audit Team is what sets us apart. We have a thorough audit process for our manufacturing partners that focuses on the following areas:
Quality and sustainability of the production process
Our auditors check the quality and sustainability of the production process by, among other things:
- Careful evaluation of documents (including the presence of certifications, such as ISO certificates)
Extensive audits and inspections at production facilities
Interviews with employees and management at production facilities
Working conditions When it comes to working conditions, our auditors pay attention to, among other things:
- wages
safety in the workplace
breaks and facilities (such as seating, canteen)
workshop and canteen facilities
working hours and vacations
➕ Training and informationOur local teams also advise manufacturing partners on quality, sustainability, good working conditions and training. This approach leads to verifiable results. 93% of manufacturers who have undergone a follow-up audit have improved their performance.
➕Working together to reduce CO2 emissions.
Our goal is to bring only closed-loop products to the market. We continuously strive to cooperate with innovative manufacturers. In doing so, we support SDG 12: ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns....
